{"id":303,"date":"2006-04-24T04:04:00","date_gmt":"2006-04-24T04:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/staging.startups.co.uk\/?p=303"},"modified":"2021-05-18T16:23:41","modified_gmt":"2021-05-18T15:23:41","slug":"startups-awards-to-feature-new-category","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.startups.co.uk\/startups-awards\/startups-awards-to-feature-new-category\/","title":{"rendered":"Startups Awards to feature new category"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"stdleadertext\">The Startups Awards will feature a brand new category at this year&rsquo;s competition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Judges for the Business Plan of the Year Award will be recognising the company that can demonstrate the strongest business strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Whether your goal is to open two more shops or float on the stock exchange, it is important for every successful start-up to delineate its targets and map out every stage of its development.<\/p>\n<p>Judges will be looking for the company that best understands its market and competition, has paid attention to detail and done its maths.<\/p>\n<p>The successful company will also have shown it has implemented and reviewed its strategy.<\/p>\n<p>Sage, which is sponsoring the award, said the businesses in this new category encapsulate the best of Britain&rsquo;s new innovators. &ldquo;The spirit of entrepreneurship that led to the creation of Sage 25 years ago still exists within the company today and we have always encouraged small business success,&rdquo; said Lisa Graveling, spokesperson for Sage.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We are proud to be sponsoring this award, which recognises and rewards the most forward thinking business plans and ideas.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The award is open to both established start-up businesses and those companies that have not yet launched but have completed their business plan.<\/p>\n<p>Deadline for entry is 9 June.
