Why have we got an Innovative Business of the Year category?<\/h3>\n

Innovation is a key driver of economic growth and innovation is soaring amongst the UK’s small businesses with many behind some of the world’s most disruptive and pioneering ideas.<\/p>\n

The Innovative Business of the Year looks to celebrate these disruptive UK businesses and recognise their achievements and future potential.<\/p>\n

What are we looking for in a great innovative business?<\/h3>\n

A strong contender in the Innovative Business of the Year category will either offer a ground-breaking product or service, or use an exciting new approach to improve or disrupt a traditional market.<\/p>\n

2017’s winner was darts activity bar chain Flight Club<\/a>. Opened in Shoreditch in 2015 by founders Steve Moore and Paul Barham, Flight Club enables customers to have ‘supercharged’ games of darts, alongside great food and drink and caters for offices, parties, and socials. It also operates a venue in Bloomsbury and, since its win, opened Flight Club Chicago.<\/p>\n

The award will also take into account the strength of your business’ revenue growth, profitability and client base. Your business must be independently owned, have started trading no earlier than 1 August 2014 and no later than 31 July 2017, and be UK-founded and UK-based.<\/p>\n

Why you should enter Innovative Business of the Year?<\/h3>\n

The Startups Awards gives you the chance to get your business in front of, and receive validation from, a prestigious panel of judges<\/a> that includes Alex Chesterman, founder of Zoopla, Justine Roberts of Mumsnet, and Innocent Drinks co-founder Jon Wright.<\/p>\n

As well as this, the Awards is an opportunity to receive a significant PR boost, which could expose you to potential new clients, customers or even employees.<\/p>\n

To help take advantage of marketing opportunities, winners and finalists will also receive a template press release, a logo and winner’s interviews featured on the Startups Awards website.<\/p>\n
